The gas boom built Kokomo — and left us the demolition work
In the 1880s, the Trenton Gas Field — the largest natural gas deposit discovered anywhere up to that time, covering 5,120 square miles — turned Kokomo into a factory boomtown and the "City of Firsts." More than a century later, plenty of boom-era industrial buildings have reached the end of the line. Taking aging structures down safely is exactly the kind of demolition we do.
Wildcat Creek drains 800 square miles through here
Wildcat Creek runs three forks through Howard County on its way to the Wabash, widening into Kokomo Reservoir just west of Greentown. When a creek system that size shapes the county's drainage, your site's grading plan needs to respect where the water already wants to go.
The county was named after a wildcat — sort of
Howard County was originally organized as Richardville County, honoring Miami chief Jean Baptiste Richardville, whose Miami name Pe-che-wa means "wildcat." The creek carries his name to this day. We think a county named for a wildcat suits dirt work just fine.
